Shaping Our Future

Recently we brought our partner parishes together via Zoom to kick off 2023. The purpose of the kickoff is to get parishes excited about the new year and set the tone of what is to come.

I shared with them that we recently discovered some recordings that Father Michael and I created early on in our journey together to rebuild the parish. We talked about starting a parking ministry, building up our hospitality ministries and launching small groups. It was a great reminder of the need to dream and to prophesy or speak life into the future we are creating in our parishes. Sometimes when we put goals or dreams down on paper, it feels like wishful thinking, but it really does shape the future.

Paul writes in his letter to the Romans:

For this reason, it depends on faith, so that it may be a gift, and the promise may be guaranteed to all his descendants, not to those who only adhere to the law but to those who follow the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us, as it is written, “I have made you father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into being what does not exist.

Romans 4:16-17

In faith, God calls us to co-create with him and bring into existence what does not yet exist but should. We call into being what does not yet exist.

We look forward to the year ahead in which our partner parishes bring into existence ministries and environments that draw people deeper into their relationship with Christ and reach the lost.

Please join me in praying for our partner parishes.
